Madikwe Dithaba Lodge
Situated in the central-eastern region of the Madikwe Game Reserve, Dithaba Lodge invites guests to a secluded retreat in the wilderness. The reserve is known for its rich biodiversity, flora habitats, and exceptional Super Seven sightings.
With only four luxury suites, Dithaba Lodge can host a total of 8 guests. This ensures an exclusive safari experience with great attention to detail. Suites are located on a hillside offering maximum privacy and spectacular views over the open plains.
Daily sunrise and sunset game drives take guests on a breathtaking adventure to spot the Big 5, cheetah, wild dog, and more than 60 mammal species. An expert ranger and tracker team will get to know exactly what your particular areas of interest are, tailor-making your safari to your preferences. After breakfast, you can set off on a walking safari with a ranger. Bush walks are the perfect way to explore the smaller intricacies of the ecosystem and to get up-close photo opportunities of birds, flora, insects, and small mammals.
Guests can request to join a rhino conservation experience or roll up your sleeves and partake in some of the local community development programmes. These community visits take your safari to a new level, allowing you to learn about the vibrant local culture and heartfelt hospitality of the people.
With bush breakfasts, outdoor boma dinners beside crackling fires, and African fusion flavors, dining at Dithaba Lodge is a glorious experience all on its own. This is also the perfect location for stargazing. Guests can spend evenings at the Star Deck and soak in the magical enormity of the constellations.

Madikwe Game Reserve is located in the North Western Province of South Africa and lies on the South Africa/Botswana border.
Getting there:
- Madikwe airstrip is the closet airstrip.
- There are two daily scheduled return flights from Johannesburg to Madikwe Airstrip with Federal Airlines.
- Flight time: Johannesburg to Madikwe: 60 minutes
- Road transfers from Madikwe Airstrip to the lodge take approximately 15 – 30 minutes.
- The reserve is a 4 – 4.5-hour drive from Johannesburg.
