Etali Safari Lodge prides itself on simplistic sophistication and luxurious elegance, allowing nature to be the star of the show. The lodge is set in between Tamboti trees and small hills. Surround by vast wild plains eight luxury suites and one family suite immerse guests into a privately peaceful bushveld haven.
The thatch suites feature cool and earthy tones. Each suite opens to a private deck and splash pool on the edge of the wild where animals often pass by. Hear lions roar and hyenas laugh at night and wake to the sound of bird song in a world far removed from modern-day worries.
Etali Safari Lodge caters especially well to mobility-impaired guests. From accommodation and dining facilities to game drives, every need is catered for. Additionally, Kosher and Halaal guests are also catered for.
Guests at Etali can enjoy twice-daily game drives in the exclusive Madikwe Big 5 Game Reserve. The modified open Land Cruiser vehicles have canvas canopies for sun protection in summer. In winter drives are complimented with blankets and hot water bottles. An expert guide and tracker team lead the adventures and will occasionally venture off-road to get you closer to where the action is. Walking safaris are an opportunity to enjoy the wild on foot and truly immerse all your senses as you discover the smaller details of the land.
Before you delve into the dinner menu, you may want to explore the wellness menu for an indulgent spa treatment. Couples can also enjoy a relaxing bushveld spa experience together.
The main dining area at Etali Safari Lodge is set on a covered deck overlooking the waterhole and surrounding hills. You also have the option to dine inside the main lodge area, on your private deck, or to enjoy a bush breakfast. Boma dinners are glorious outdoor dining experiences with traditional African barbecue-style cooking under a canopy of starry skies.

Madikwe Game Reserve is located in the North Western Province of South Africa and lies on the South Africa/Botswana border.
Getting there:
- Madikwe airstrip is the closet airstrip.
- There are two daily scheduled return flights from Johannesburg to Madikwe Airstrip with Federal Airlines.
- Flight time: Johannesburg to Madikwe: 60 minutes
- Road transfers from Madikwe Airstrip to the lodge take approximately 20 minutes.
- The reserve is a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg.
Child Policy:
- Etali Safari Lodge welcomes children of all ages.
- Children under 6 years are not permitted on game drives unless a private vehicle is hired.
- Child rates are applicable for children 12 years and under.
