Watching Tour

The Whale Watching Tour takes you to Hermanus, one of South Africa’s top whale-watching destinations and a world-renowned hotspot for observing these majestic marine giants. Nestled along the scenic Cape Whale Coast, Hermanus offers unparalleled land-based whale watching from its dramatic cliffs, where visitors can marvel as Southern Right Whales breach, lobtail, and nurse their young in the sheltered waters of Walker Bay.

Each year, from June to December, these gentle giants migrate from the icy Antarctic to the warmer South African coastline to mate and calve, providing a breathtaking spectacle. Whether from designated viewing platforms, the picturesque cliff paths, or a thrilling boat tour that brings you up close, Hermanus offers a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with these extraordinary creatures.

With only around 7,000 Southern Right Whales remaining globally, witnessing them in their natural habitat is a rare and unforgettable experience. The town of Hermanus also hosts the annual Whale Festival, a vibrant celebration of marine life, conservation, and local culture. Whether you choose to watch from shore, or enjoy a guided boat excursion, Hermanus promises an awe-inspiring adventure for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts alike.
