River Bend Lodge

River Bend Lodge is a game reserve set on a 14 000-hectare private concession within the Greater Addo National Park in the Eastern Cape. Located at the top end of the Garden Route, it is a convenient 45-minute drive from Port Elizabeth Airport. The River Bend Lodge Reserve boasts beautiful African landscapes consisting of 5 different biomes, making this an ideal place to find a large variety of wildlife species. The reserve is home to the Big 5, over 300 bird species, and also boasts the densest African elephant population in the world. Expert rangers ensure an exhilarating safari experience with a wealth of knowledge about wildlife and skillful animal tracking.

The upmarket lodge boasts the style of fine country living. Eight luxuriously spacious standalone suites offer a colonial-style theme with private viewing decks. The honeymoon suite additionally has a private plunge pool. There is also a three-bedroom villa for groups and families, just a short drive from the main lodge. Wildlife:

Big 5: elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions, and elusive leopards.
Over 400 bird species have been recorded in the region and are particularly drawn to the water sources.

Game Drives:

Game drives are taken in open 4×4 safari vehicles and are accompanied by a ranger, who will share a wealth of knowledge about the animals with you.
The game drives are 3 to 4 hours long and take place twice a day in the morning and afternoon.
Morning game drives are complimented by a coffee stop and a sundowner downer stop in the evening a remote location.

Riverbend Lodge is a 75 minute drive from Port Elizabeth.
Flight time from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth: 1 hour 10 minutes.
Flight time from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth: 1 hour 35 minutes.

Child Policy:

Riverbend Lodge welcomes children of all ages.
Children 0 – 3 years stay free of charge.
Children 3 – 16 years are charged a child rate.
Family game drives are available with young children and are carried out in separate safari vehicles.

Inclusions & Exclusions:

Included: 2 x Game drives per day, all meals, soft drinks and selected alcoholic beverages.
Excluded: Premium branded drinks, conservation levies, airport transfers, and anything of personal nature.
