Half Day Cape Peninsula Tour

With dazzling beaches, dozens of scenic viewpoints, and an endless array of unique fauna and flora, this half-day tour will have you in awe for its full duration. The Half Day Cape Peninsula Tour starts along the Atlantic Seaboard with its azure waters, white sands, and palm-lined café streets of Camps Bay. The trendy beach neighbourhood is a hub of activity in the summer with dolphins and whales often spotted along the coast.

On the Half Day Cape Peninsula Tour the drive through to Cape Point Nature Reserve is a constant marvel of mountain and ocean scenery that promises not to disappoint. The reserve at the tip of the peninsula is home to more than 250 species of birdlife as well as 1100 indigenous plant species. Many of these extraordinary flora species grow nowhere else in the world. You may also spot a variety of buck, baboons, and zebra.

The shipwreck trail allows visitors to view some of the 26 recorded shipwrecks around Cape Point. In addition, these oceans are home to the legendary ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman. You might not stay long enough to see the ghost ship, but you can explore the Cape of Good Hope world-famous landmark. Here you will also see monuments in honour of two of the world’s most famous explorers who discovered Cape Point in 1488 – Vasco da Gama and Bartolomeu Dias.

The journey back around the Southern Peninsula on the Half Day Cape Peninsula Tour offers you the opportunity to mingle with penguins at Boulders Beach where over 3000 black and white feathered friends reside. There is an additional conservation fee to interact with these intriguing birds. The coastal road carries along through Simon’s Town, home to the South African Navy with a vibrant history and charming culture, and then onto Kalk Bay, a quirky seaside village lined with eclectic cafes, antique stores, costume shops, cobbled streets, vintage bookstores, and comforting bakeries.

Before heading back, the last tour setting is the world-renowned surfing hub, Muizenberg. The beach here is a weekend surfboard buzz as people from all parts of society enjoy the ocean. Identifiable by its famous colourful beach huts, Muizenberg offers a laid-back vibe with plenty of cafes along the beachfront.
