Rock Fig
Safari Lodge

RockFig Safari Lodge is an intimate, design-led safari retreat in the heart of the Timbavati Nature Reserve, where luxury and wilderness merge seamlessly. The lodge’s architecture draws inspiration from its surroundings, using natural materials, warm textures, and earthy tones that reflect the colours of the bush. Indoor and outdoor spaces flow naturally into one another, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere.

Accommodation comprises six spacious chalet-style suites designed for privacy and comfort. Each suite includes indoor and outdoor showers, a deep bathtub, and a private veranda, all emphasising a close connection to the wilderness. The main lodge offers open communal areas, including a dining room anchored by a 4-metre table and chandelier, an open kitchen, and a comfortable lounge with a fireplace, complemented by locally inspired décor and furnishings.

Outdoor living is central to the RockFig experience. Guests can relax on the covered deck overlooking the bush, dine at the long outdoor table, or enjoy the pool deck with views of a bustling waterhole frequented by elephants and other wildlife. Evenings gather around the atmospheric boma, where firelight and natural sounds frame the night. Meals are flexible and personalised, served indoors, outdoors, or under the stars, with occasional bush breakfasts or pancake stops adding variety.

Situated in a prime section of Timbavati, an unfenced reserve forming part of the Greater Kruger ecosystem, RockFig offers exceptional wildlife viewing. A large traversing area and low vehicle density ensure uncrowded, high-quality sightings. Safaris are led by experienced guides and trackers, with game drives limited to four guests per vehicle for comfort and visibility. Families receive a private vehicle, while walking safaris provide a detailed, ground-level perspective of the bush.
