Camp Kalahari

Camp Kalahari is a family-friendly safari camp that blends adventure with comfort and style. It is located on Brown Hyena Island at the edge of Botswana’s Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, within a private wildlife reserve of over one million acres. The camp has 12 Meru-style tents, offering a simple and elegant base for families, groups, and couples exploring the Kalahari desert.

The tents at Camp Kalahari feature fresh textiles, Moroccan-inspired décor, and open-air ensuite bathrooms for a true outdoor experience. The camp offers activities like quad biking across the salt pans, horseback riding, guided walks with the Zu/’hoasi Bushmen, and game drives. Guests can also meet the habituated meerkat family that interacts with visitors.

Wildlife is abundant year-round. Guests can see elephants, lions, cheetahs, and rare brown hyenas. From January to April, thousands of zebra and wildebeest pass through during Africa’s second-largest migration. The swimming pool pavilion is ideal for relaxing while watching elephants drink. Camp Kalahari combines wildlife, adventure, and comfort for an unforgettable safari.
