Kanana Camp

Kanana Camp is a hidden jewel nestled on the Xudum River in the southwest Okavango Delta. It lies within a private concession of nearly 95 square kilometers, surrounded by islands adorned with palms, figs, ebony, and knobthorn trees. The area offers a diverse mix of habitats, from permanent channels and lagoons to open grasslands and forested islands.

This unique setting makes Kanana Camp an excellent place to experience the incredible biodiversity of the Okavango. Wildlife is abundant year-round, including kudu, impala, sitatunga, lechwe, and predators such as lions, leopards, and wild dogs. During the seasonal floods, the landscape transforms into a water wonderland. Guests can explore by boat or mokoro and visit a spectacular heronry, one of the largest in Southern Africa.

Kanana Camp combines luxury with eco-conscious design. The seven spacious safari tents each feature en-suite bathrooms with large walk-in showers and elegant fittings. A two-bedroom family tent provides extra space and privacy for families. Elevated teak decks often sit above the seasonal floodwaters, creating an immersive Delta experience. The Sleep Out Deck lets guests spend a night under the stars for an unforgettable adventure.

Kanana Camp offers a wide range of activities, including personalized game drives, guided bush walks, mokoro and motorboat excursions, and night drives. Birdwatching at the heronry is a highlight, and fishing enthusiasts can enjoy seasonal catches of tilapia, tigerfish, and other species.

Getting There

The best way to get to Kanana Camp is to fly from Johannesburg to Maun, followed by a flight via light aircraft to the Kanana private airstrip.
Flight time from Johannesburg to Maun: 1 hour 50 minutes.
Flight time from Maun to Kanana airstrip: 20-30 minutes.
Inter-camp air transfer options are also available.

Kanana Camp welcomes children from 6 years.
One 2-bedroom family unit is available.
Children 6 – 15 years pay 70% of the adult rate.
Low and high season: Child rate is available to a child sharing with one or two full-paying adults in a twin, triple or family tent.
High season: Child rate is only available when booked into the family tent(s) with two sharing adults.

Inclusions & Exclusions

Included: Daily activities, all meals, selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, laundry, and park entry fees.
Excluded: Premium brand drinks and anything of personal nature.
