Klaserie Drift at Klaserie
Klaserie Drift is a 5 star luxury safari lodge found in the Klaserie Game Reserve. Klaserie Drift shares unfenced boarders with the Kruger National Park and forms part of the ‘Greater Kruger’. Here one can expect a safari experience in outmost luxury as you indulge in the finest comforts while out in the African bush. The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is one of the largest privately-owned nature reserves in South Africa covering 60 000 hectares of wildlife territory. With the Klaserie River running through the reserve Klaserie Drift is an ideal destination for exclusive Big 5 game viewing as well as a large bird colony and variety of flora. The Klaserie area is home to a variety of predators, including lion, leopard, smaller cats, spotted hyenas, jackals, and wild dogs. Buffalo, hippo, giraffe, elephant, a variety of antelope, and baboonscan be spotted daily on exclusive 4×4 safari drives led by passionate guides and trackers. Guests 16 years and older can join the excitement of tracking African big game on foot with expert rangers.
Wildlife:
- High concentration of Big 5 with large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as large lion prides.
- Other wildlife include but are not limited to the hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, African wild dog, hyaena, warthog and many other cat and antelope species.
- Large antelope herds support the populations of predators in the reserve.
- Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the region. Many can be seen in the reserve.
Game Drives:
- Game drives take place twice a day in the early mornings and afternoons for a duration of 3-4 hours.
- Game drives are led by an experienced guide and tracker team.
- Vehicles are allowed to go off road to track and follow the wildlife.
- Strict traverse rules are in place and vehicle numbers are limited in each reserve. A maximum of two vehicles are allowed at any sighting.
- Night drives and guided bushwalks are permitted.

- Hoedspruit (HDS) is the closet commercial airport to the Klaserie, daily flights operate from Johannesburg and Cape Town.
- Flight time from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit or private airstrip: 60 minutes.
- Road transfers from Hoedspruit to Klaserie take 30 – 120 minutes lodge depending.
