Pumba Bush Lodge
The Msenge Bush Lodge at Pumba Game Reserve consists of 11 one-bedroom chalets and one 2-bedroom chalet, suitable for a larger family. Each luxurious chalet boasts a thatch roof and glass enclosure leading out onto a private bush area. A high population of wildlife makes for outstanding game drives at this private game reserve. Lake Cariega attracts a variety of birds, making the location a birdwatcher’s paradise. Accompanied by passionately expert game rangers you will track and see an abundance of wildlife including the magnificent Big 5. Pumba Private Game Reserve is also home to the rare white lion as well as hippo, hyena, cheetah, giraffe, and a large variety of antelope. Twice-daily game drives are complimented with a cozy coffee stop at sunrise and a spectacular sundowner stop in the wild as you witness skies turning crimson above expansive African plains.
Wildlife:
- Pumba Game Reserve is a Big-5 reserve and is home to the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino.
- Rare White Lion as well as Tawny Lion.
- A variety of other wildlife, including cheetah, hippo, hyena, aardwolf, Vervet monkey, eland, hartebeest, giraffe, black wildebeest, gemsbok, a variety of antelope species and more.
- Over 300 species of bird.
- Leopard sighting are rare in any eastern cape game reserve.
Game Drives:
- Game drives take place twice a day in the early mornings and afternoons for a duration of 3-4 hours.
- Game drives are led by an experienced guide.

- Flight time from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth: 1 hour 10 minutes
- Flight time from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth: 1 hour 35 minutes
Child Policy:
- Pumba welcomes children of all ages.
- Children under 6 years are not permitted on the game drives unless a private vehicle is hired.
- Children 4-11 years pay approximately 30% of the adult sharing rate
- Children 12-17 years pay 50% of the adult sharing rate
- Children under the age of 3 years stay free of charge.
- For bushwalks, children must be 16 years and above.
