Sibuya Forest Camp
Superbly perched on the banks of the Kariega River Estuary, Sibuya Forest Camp’s 8 luxury tents are tucked into the indigenous bush. Each tent has a full bathroom and comfortable living space with a fireplace. The absence of electricity at Sibuya Forest Camp ensures that the experience is not spoiled by the noise of modern civilization. Since eco-camps are run almost entirely by solar power, there is no Wi-Fi, television, air conditioning, or electric fans, and only intermittent mobile signal, making for a truly soulful experience in nature’s magnificence. A true submersion into the essence of the wild; at Sibuya Forest Camp guests are encouraged to enjoy the nature around them in a host of exciting activities. After an exciting day at Sibuya Game reserve, dinners are a delectable African style buffet hosted in the boma or on one of the expansive decks under glistening African skies. Here, personal attention and world-class hospitality are guaranteed.
There is no question that Sibuya Game Reserve provides one of the most unique Big 5 safari experiences in South Africa. Situated in the Eastern Cape seaside village of Kenton-on-Sea, a 45-minute boat cruise takes guests to a selection of luxury eco-camps along the Kariega River. Sibuya Game Reserve boasts more navigable river than any other game reserve in South Africa. The varied, sub-tropical vegetation across the landscapes and river ensure a high density of wildlife. The reserve is home to over 400 bird species and 45 species of wildlife. Big 5 sightings are frequent on game drives as are zebra, giraffe, eland, jackal, oribi, and bontebok. The team at Sibuya Game Reserve is what really makes your Eastern Cape safari unforgettable. Your dedicated expert ranger at Sibuya Forest Camp will accompany you on all your game drives and even join you for dinner if you please, to share stories and find out what’s on your wildlife bucket list. Although Sibuya Forest Camp only accommodates children over 12 years, River Camp accommodates Children of all ages.
