Simbavati Amani offers an exclusive safari getaway reflecting pure class. Set in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park, the lodge features only four suites ensuring personal attention and a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The lodge can be booked on an exclusive use basis for family and friends to share an extraordinary adventure together.

The romantic setting features lantern-lit pathways and a fire pit perfect for stargazing and sharing the day’s stories over a glass of wine. During the day, guests can relax in an enchanting garden lounge shaded by old trees. The entertainment area offers an infinity pool and terrace with an open- air bar. Simbavati Amani provides luxurious accommodation for eight guests across four opulent suites. Each bedroom boasts its private entrance and offers views either onto the garden or a charming small courtyard. Additionally, the Mezzanine area allows for sleeping arrangements for up to two children.

There are also plenty of game viewing opportunities from the main lodge’s beautifully designed timber deck overlooking a floodlit waterhole. Every inch of the lodge exudes pure eco-sophistication. The design integrates raw eco elements in a contemporary yet welcoming layout that celebrates the natural surrounding beauty. Game drives at Amani take place in the early mornings as well as late afternoons (into the evenings) with expert guides and trackers.

The Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is one of the biggest privately- owned reserves in South Africa spanning 60 000 hectares of wildlife territory. The Klaserie River runs through the reserve which makes it the ideal destination for bird watching as well as exclusive Big 5 sightings. The area is home to a diverse range of predators including leopard, lion, spotted hyenas, wild dogs, and jackals. The exclusive nature of the lodge and the reserve means that guests can enjoy uncrowded sightings and remarkable photo opportunities. The outdoor sala with a daybed offer magnificent views over the bushveld, dam, and Nhlaralumi River.

Wildlife

  • High concentration of Big 5 with large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as large lion prides.
  • Other wildlife include but are not limited to the hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, African wild dog, hyaena, warthog and many other cat and antelope species.
  • Large antelope herds support the populations of predators in the reserve.
  • Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the region. Many can be seen in the reserve.

Game Drives

  • Game drives take place twice a day in the early mornings and afternoons for a duration of 3-4 hours.
  • Game drives are led by an experienced guide and tracker team.
  • Vehicles are allowed to go off road to track and follow the wildlife.
  • Strict traverse rules are in place and vehicle numbers are limited in each reserve. A maximum of two vehicles are allowed at any sighting.
  • Night drives and guided bushwalks are permitted.

Location

  • Located in the western region of the Greater Kruger and borders the Kruger National Park, as well as Timbavati, Umbabat and Balulue game reserves .
  • The Kruger National Park is almost 2 million hectares and lies in the north-eastern corner of South Africa in the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces.

Getting There

  • Hoedspruit (HDS) is the closet commercial airport to Amani Lodge, daily flights operate from Johannesburg and Cape Town.
  • Flight time from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit or private airstrip: 60 minutes.
  • Flight time from Cape Town to Skukuza: 2 hours 30 minutes.
  • Road transfers from Hoedspruit to Amani Lodge take 60 – 90 minutes.

Child Policy

  • Amani Lodge welcomes children from 8 years.
  • Children 8 – 11 years pay 50% of the adult sharing rate.
  • Children taking their own room pay adult rates.
  • Amani mezzanine level – up to two children can sleep on the Mezzanine area.
