Set within Botswana’s southeastern Okavango Delta, Wilderness Chitabe is one of the region’s most consistent predator-rich safari destinations. Located on a private concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve, the camp is surrounded by a mosaic of floodplains, woodlands, and seasonal waterways that attract exceptional wildlife year-round.
For over 27 years, Chitabe has built a reputation not only for outstanding game viewing, but also for its welcoming atmosphere and strong sense of place, where returning guests are greeted like family.
Situated in the private NG31 concession, Wilderness Chitabe lies between the Gomoti Channel and Santantadibe River, creating a natural peninsula of diverse habitats. This mix of open plains, marshlands, and woodland supports one of the highest concentrations of predators in the Okavango Delta.
Chitabe is particularly well known for African wild dog, lion, leopard, and cheetah sightings, alongside large herds of elephant, buffalo, zebra, and antelope. More than 400 bird species have been recorded in the area, making it equally rewarding for birdwatchers.
The camp has recently been rebuilt with a strong focus on sustainability, combining modern comfort with low-impact design and a strong conservation ethos.
