Simbambili Game Lodge is set in the famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve and offers a luxury experience with world-class game viewing opportunities. Simbambili Game Lodge boasts and tranquil environment with a calming setting in the nature and accommodates a maximum of 16 guests in Moroccan themed luxury suites. Each suite , has been elegantly designed to blend in with the dense stands of knobthorn and jackalberry trees along the resident Manyeleti River. The lodge boasts massive decks with shaded sala beds overlooking the waterhole, frequently by wildlife which makes the perfect place to park off and relax.
Guides and and trackers share a wealth of knowledge and passion for what they do. The game drives at Simbambili Game Lodge are ranked some of the best in the area and depart from the lodge twice a day in the early morning and afternoons. The Sabi Sand is a private game reserve pioneered by local landowners in the 1950s that shares a fenceless border with the Kruger National Park. The reserve is home to great numbers of well-habituated wildlife resulting in close encounters, particularly with elusive leopards, which the Sabi Sand has become world-famous for. Roaming packs of wild dogs, territorial lions and large herds of elephants are also signature sightings in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The relative abundance of water in an otherwise dry area is the secret to the area’s rich biodiversity.
Wildlife:
- Highest population density of the Big 5 in South Africa and it is estimated that 1500 lions, 1000 leopards, 17000 elephant, 48000 buffalo and an excess of 2000 rhinos live in the Sabi Sands and Kruger National Park.
- Other wildlife include but are not limited to the hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, wild dog, hyaena, warthog and many other cat and antelope species.
- Approximately 147 mammal species.

Game Drives:
- Sabi Sands game drives are ranked some of the best in the world.
- Game drives take place twice a day in the early mornings and afternoons for a duration of 3-4 hours.
- Game drives are led by an experienced guide and tracker team.
- Vehicles are allowed to go off road to track and follow the wildlife.
- Strict traverse rules are in place and vehicle numbers are limited in each reserve. A maximum of two vehicles are allowed at any sighting.

- Located on the northern edge of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and shares unfenced borders with Elephant Plains and Arathusa game reserves.
- Sabi Sands is a 65 000-hectare private game reserve and lies in South Africa’s far north-eastern corner in the Mpumalanga province. The private reserve forms part of the Greater Kruger, sharing unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park.
Getting there:
- Arathusa private airstrip is the closet airstrip, two daily chartered flights from Johannesburg are operated by Federal Airlines.
- Skukuza (SKU) is the closet commercial airport to Simbambili, daily flights operate from Johannesburg and Cape Town.
- Flight time from Johannesburg to Skukuza or Arathusa private airstrip: 60 minutes
- Flight time from Cape Town to Skukuza: 2 hours 30 minutes
- Road transfers from Skukuza to Simbambili take approximately 2.5 hours.
