    Wildlife including rhino, lion, buffalo, hippos, elephant, giraffe, zebra, antelope, and wild dogs can be seen from the lodges various private and communal viewing decks. Game drives at Singita Ebony Lodge are conducted by expert rangers and trackers working together to track the most amazing close-up animal sightings for guests. The area is also recognized as ‘Big Cat’ country, known for inspiring lion and leopard sightings. Home to fascinating flora and a large variety of birdlife, guided bushwalks give one a chance to see the smaller intricacies of the bush.     Wildlife:

    • Highest population density of the Big 5 in South Africa and it is estimated that 1500 lions, 1000 leopards, 17000 elephant, 48000 buffalo and an excess of 2000 rhinos live in the Sabi Sands and Kruger National Park.
    • Other wildlife include but are not limited to the hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, wild dog, hyaena, warthog and many other cat and antelope species.
    • Approximately 147 mammal species.

    Game Drives:

    • Game drives take place twice a day in the early mornings and afternoons for a duration of 3-4 hours.
    • Game drives are led by an experienced guide and tracker team.
    • Vehicles are allowed to go off road to track and follow the wildlife.
    • Strict traverse rules are in place and vehicle numbers are limited in each reserve. A maximum of two vehicles are allowed at any sighting.

    Location:

    • Located in the western side of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and shares unfenced borders with the Londolozi, Simbambili and Elephant plains game reserves
    • Sabi Sands is a 65 000-hectare private game reserve and lies in South Africa’s far north-eastern corner in the Mpumalanga province. The private reserve forms part of the Greater Kruger, sharing unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park.

    Getting There:

    • Singita private airstrip is the closet airstrip, two daily chartered flights from Johannesburg are operated by Federal Airlines.
    • Skukuza (SKU) is the closet commercial airport to Singita Sabi Sands, daily flights operate from Johannesburg and Cape Town.
    • Flight time from Johannesburg to Skukuza or Singita private airstrip: 60 minutes
    • Flight time from Cape Town to Skukuza: 2 hours 30 minutess
    • Road transfers from Skukuza to Singita take 90 minutes.

    Child Policy:

    • Singita Ebony Lodge welcomes children of all ages
    • Infants under the age of 2 years will be accommodated free of charge
    • Children 2-16 years sharing with an adult or another child pay 50% of the adult rate
