At its heart stands The Outpost, an architectural masterpiece poised dramatically on a rocky ridge, offering breathtaking views over the vast valley below. This unique location in the Pafuri Triangle, a secluded wedge of land between the Luvuvhu and Limpopo Rivers, is renowned for its astonishing biodiversity, with 80% of Kruger’s species found within this 26,500-hectare expanse.
The landscape is as diverse as it is spectacular, with towering baobabs, lush riverine forests, alluvial floodplains, sandstone gorges, and the largest fever tree forest in the Southern Hemisphere. The lodge’s striking design allows for a seamless connection to this untouched environment, enhancing the feeling of solitude and immersion in nature. Guests are accommodated in twelve luxurious, free-standing suites, each perched along the ridgeline to maximize privacy and views. Wildlife:

- The region is known for its large herds of buffalo, elephant, and zebra, along with rare species like sable antelope, roan antelope, and Sharpe’s grysbok, and impala, nyala, eland, and iconic wildebeest.
- Lion sighting are becoming more common than in the past when bug cat sighting have been extremely rare.
- More than 350 bird species are found in this region, including unique specialties like the Pel’s fishing-owl, black-throated wattle-eye, orange-winged pytilia, African crowned eagle, and the vibrant racket-tailed roller.
- Predators such as cheetahs, wild dogs, and hyenas can often be seen hunting or in action.

- Makuleke private airstrip is the closet airstrip, chartered flight can be arranged from Johannesburg.

- Road transfers from Johannesburg to The Outpost take 7 hours from Johannesburg, or 5 hours from Hoedspruit Airport
