Londolozi Founders Camp

The luxury Londolozi Founders Camp is an enchanting and intimate retreat comprising 10 Superior Chalets with thatch and natural elements as the core features. Londolozi Founders Camp offers guests world-class indoor and outdoor dining, village visits, jogging trails, and guided bushwalks. A yoga deck provides a unique space where guests can enjoy a meditation class in the arms of grandeur ebony trees.
Londolozi is situated on the banks of the Sands River, in the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park. This privately owned reserve offers an authentic African wildlife experience providing top-class game drives and some of the best luxury safaris in South Africa. With over 14,000 hectares of breath-taking wilderness, the family-run private reserve boasts an abundance of Africa’s finest wildlife including the Big 5 and some of the highest concentrations of white rhino and lion. Londolozi is renowned for its intriguing leopard colony and mesmerizing leopard sightings.
Game drives at Londolozi Founders Camp take place in open land rovers guided by some of the best game rangers in the world. Londolozi boasts two of only 17 Master Trackers in South Africa, resulting in world-class game drive experiences. Londolozi is renowned as a photographic haven and the origional premier Big Five photographic safari destination in South Africa. Londolozi Private Game Reserve is host to an abundance of professional photographic equipment for hire as well as a chance to embark on a photographic safari with a private safari guide and vehicle. In addition to Londolozi Founders Camp, the private reserve is home to four other exclusive lodges; Tree Camp, Vary Camp, Pioneer Camp and the Granite Suites.
Wildlife:
- High concentration of Big 5 with large herds of elephant and buffalo. White rhino and lion concentrations are among the highest recorded on the African continent.
- Other wildlife include but are not limited to the hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, African wild dog, hyaena, warthog and many other cat and antelope species.
- Large antelope herds support the populations of predators in the reserve.
- Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the region. Many can be seen in the reserve.
Game Drives:
- Game drives take place twice a day in the early mornings and afternoons for a duration of 3-4 hours.
- Game drives are led by an experienced guide and tracker team.
- Vehicles are allowed to go off road to track and follow the wildlife.
- Strict traverse rules are in place and vehicle numbers are limited in each reserve. A maximum of two vehicles are allowed at any sighting.
- Night drives and guided bush walk are permitted

Location:
- Located in the middle of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and shares fenceless borders with MalaMala, Silvan and Singita private game reserves.
- Sabi Sands lies in South Africa’s far north-eastern corner in the Mpumalanga province. The private reserve forms part of the Greater Kruger, sharing unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park.
Getting There:
- Londolozi private airstrip is the closet airstrip, two daily chartered flights from Johannesburg are operated by Federal Airlines.
- Skukuza (SKU) is the closet commercial airport to Londolozi, daily flights operate from Johannesburg and Cape Town.
- Flight time from Johannesburg to Skukuza or Londolozi private airstrip: 60 minutes
- Flight time from Cape Town to Skukuza: 2 hours 30 minutess
- Road transfers from Skukuza to Londolozi take 60 minutes and are arranged in open 4×4 safari vehicles.
Child Policy:
- Founders Camp welcomes children over 6 years
- Children under 6 years can be accommodated if the camp is booked for exclusive use
- Children 6 – 11 years pay 50% of adult rate

Ten family-friendly Superior Chalets feature private plunge pools, a sala, and timber deck with wilderness scenery. Each suite boasts indoor and outdoor showers as well as a magnificent bathtub with bush views.
